Star Trek: Scouts – Season 2, Episode 2: “Star Trek Scouts Save a Baby Monkey in Outer Space – Holodeck Rescues #2”

Synopsis: The Star Trek Scouts rescue a baby nobonimbus monkey stolen by Shadowtrix and return it to its mother.

This episode can be seen as another illustration of how an individual’s psyche is made up of both conscious and unconscious material, and that when the conscious ego acknowledges and integrates bits of unconscious material into itself, psychic healing can occur.

In “Star Trek Scouts Save a Baby Monkey in Outer Space – Holodeck Rescues #2,” the Star Trek Scouts entered a holodeck program aboard a space ship that they used to locate the vessel in which Shadowtrix was holding the stolen baby nobonimbus monkey. To evade them, Shadowtrix took her space ship into an asteroid storm. To make it through safely, Shadowtrix rubbed the baby nobonimbus monkey’s fur to create a force field that protected her ship. The Star Trek Scouts realized that their ship was too large to navigate the asteroid storm and was not equipped with a force field. So the Star Trek Scouts put on their space suits and ejected from their ship to go after Shadowtrix. To follow her, JR wore his rocket boots, Roo rode her hoverboard, and Sprocket had his backpack. They caught up to Shadowtrix, but because of her ship’s force field they were not able to enter it. However, Sprocket had a phaser in his backpack, and used it to pop the force field. The Star Trek Scouts then rescued the baby nobonimbus monkey, and using his transporter, Sprocket beamed them to its mother. To show her gratitude, the mother nobonimbus money allowed the Star Trek Scouts to pet her fur, which gave their space suits force field capabilities.

In this episode, when Shadowtrix petted the fur of the baby nobonimbus monkey, which gave her ship a protective force field, this can be seen as adding an irrational somatic, or bodily, trait to the rational science that created her spaceship. This integration of the irrational and rational modes of being can be analogized to when an individual’s conscious ego acknowledges and integrates bits of unconscious material into itself to become stronger and make the psyche more whole.
