Synopsis: The Star Trek Scouts defeat Shadowtrix in her plan to steal the Klingon Power Scepter by stealing the ability to seem invisible from a Corvan Gilvo.
This episode can be seen as an illustration from Jung’s work on typology, which defined different personality traits and how each of us has a dominant trait as well as a less developed inferior one.
In Bottom of Form”Star Trek Scouts Save a Chameleon’s Invisible Power!– Holodeck Rescues #7,” the Star Trek Scouts entered a holodeck program and discovered that Shadowtrix had used a siphonator device that she wore on her wrist to steal the camouflage abilities of a Corvan Gilvo. This gave Shadowtrix the power to seem invisible. JR suggested that since they cannot see Shadowtrix that they use the sense of smell to find her. JR asked Sprocket to transport his dog, Zips, to their location so that he could use his strong sense of smell to find Shadowtrix. Zips tracked Shadowtrix to where she was trying to steal the Klingon Power Scepter. Shadowtrix turned on the chameleon power that she had stolen from the Corvan Gilvo to get past two Robo Guards. Shadowtrix eluded the guards, but when the Star Trek Scouts and Zips went after her, the Robo Guards trapped them in a force field. The Star Trek Scouts and Zips could only watch as they saw Shadowtrix take the Klingon Power Scepter. Sprocket suggested that JR use the phaser to escape the force field. This was successful, and Zips grabbed and held onto the Klingon Power Scepter while the Corvan Gilvo took back the siphonator device containing her camouflage power from Shadowtrix. Shadowtrix was trapped in a forcefield by the Robo Guards, and Roo used the siphonator to return the chameleon power back to the Corvan Gilvo.
In this episode, when JR realized that Zips’ powerful sense of smell could help the Star Trek Scouts locate Shadowtrix when their favored sense of sight could not, this can be compared to Jung’s concept from his work in typology; that by working with our inferior personality traits, instead of only relying on our more dominant ones, we could become more whole, balanced and stronger individuals.
