Synopsis: The Star Trek Scouts pursue Shadowtrix into a dark cave and a sea monster trench to retrieve the glow she stole from a glowray.

In “Star Trek Scouts vs. Shadowtrix in Underwater Mission!” – Holodeck Rescues #5,”
the glowray was described as the fastest sea creature in the galaxy. Shadowtrix stole her glow, the source of her speed. The Star Trek Scouts entered an underwater holodeck program wearing environmental suits to return the glow to the glowray. Once in the program, Shadowtrix appeared and then disappeared into a dark cave. Roo chased her but then returned from the cave because it was too dark to follow Shadowtrix inside it. But then Sprocket activated the flashlight mode on his bionic arm which allowed them to pursue her. Shadowtrix attached the glowray’s glow to her craft, making it perhaps the fastest underwater ship in the galaxy. A group of glowrays indicated to the Star Trek Scouts that they could ride them to follow Shadowtrix. Shadowtrix led the Star Trek Scouts into a sea monster trench where giant crab claws and tentacles appeared. Shadowtrix was swallowed by a giant Luranium laughing clam. Roo said that if the Star Trek Scouts could make it laugh it would open. She tickled the clam with a feather and Shadowtrix’ ship was expelled. JR recovered the glow from Shadowtrix’ vessel as glowrays surrounded it. The glow was returned to the glowray.
In this episode, when the Star Trek Scouts followed Shadowtrix into a dark cave and a sea monster trench, this can be compared to when an individual engages in the union of opposites, to bring unconscious material into the realm of the conscious ego. The unconscious is often compared to feeling like one is underwater or in the dark, as these are places where an individual consciously is often not comfortable. But if these unfamiliar places are explored, then the ego becomes stronger and the psyche more whole.
