Synopsis: The Star Trek Scouts defeat a disco asteroid by turning it into shiny bits.
This episode can be seen as an illustration of when an unconscious complex comes to the awareness of the conscious ego, it can be dealt with and what Carl (C. G.) Jung called psychic healing, can occur.
“Star Trek Scouts Have a Disco Asteroid DANCE Party! – Asteroid Blaster #7” began with the Scouts playing basketball. Sprocket used his transporter watch to transport Roo to where she could make a basket. Then the asteroid alarm went off. An asteroid was heading straight for the Star Trek Scouts. Sprocket identified it as a Disco Ball Asteroid from the Boogie Belt. The asteroid deflector wheel was activated and chattering teeth were chosen as the weapon to use against the asteroid. The asteroid deflector was activated and the chattering teeth were fired at the asteroid. It did not work. The asteroid deflector wheel was activated again, and the next weapons chosen were slime balls. But something went wrong with the asteroid deflector. Sprocket investigated and discovered that the slime balls were gone. Finn had taken them and he appeared and started throwing them at the Scouts. The Scouts were pinned down. JR asked Sprocket to use his transporter watch to beam him to where Finn was so that he could throw slime balls back at him. Finn was defeated and left. The Scouts then continued their mission, and the next weapon chosen to use against the asteroid were dancing disco shoes. They kicked the asteroid into shiny bits.
In this episode, when Finn appeared and started throwing slime balls at the Scouts, this can be compared to when an unconscious complex becomes conscious to the ego. And when JR asked Sprocket to use his transporter watch to beam him to where Finn was so that he could confront him, and then drove him away, this can be analogized to when a complex that has been revealed becomes integrated into the conscious ego, to make it stronger and the psyche more whole. This is one method of what Jung called psychic healing.
